Quest for Glory 3: Wages of War

Quest for Glory 3: Wages of War is the 3rd part in the Quest for Glory series. This game has replaced the text command system and instead uses a complete point and click system.

As always, you have the choice of the Fighter, Spell Caster and Thief, and if you decide to import your character into this game, you can choose the paladin (as long as your actions where good natured in the previous game). You also get to choose more stats to help your hero along his journey.

The game begins with you in Shapier, you are having a meeting with the sultan, when out of nowhere a portal opens up. The home town of Rakeesh (whom you met in Quest for Glory 2) is on the brink of civil war. He therefore travels back with his wife (at least i think she's his wife) who's tribe is also involved and they ask you to come with them.

I did not find this game to be as good as the previous games. I did only play this recently, so I don't regard it as highly as I do the first game which i played when i was younger. That game is what I was accustomed to and therefore i was comparing how i felt when I played it to this game. It was more than that though, I just didn't like the story line and they made the puzzles very generic, not many specific to each class of hero. There weren't any guilds and such to go to for each character like there were in previous games. Your character was just there to help settle the disputes and thats it.

People who enjoyed the previous games will like this one, and anyone into RPG's will too.

Stay tuned for the conclusion of this blog series, Quest for Glory 4: Shadows of Darkness.

Note: There are 5 games in this series, I just haven't been able to come by a copy of it as it's hard to find.
